MoneyPal LLC sends SMS messages only after a user provides express consent in the MoneyPal mobile app. Listing SMS in our Privacy Policy or Terms alone is not consent — users must take a separate, affirmative action as described below.
1. Where consent is collected
Consent is collected in the MoneyPal mobile app (iOS and Android) when a user enters a U.S. mobile phone number during sign-up or account recovery. Consent is not collected on this marketing website.
- Opt-in type: Mobile app form with unchecked consent checkbox
- Separate from other agreements: SMS consent is shown alongside — but separate from — links to our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy
2. Opt-in screen (in-app)
Before any SMS is sent, the user must check an unchecked box and tap Continue:
MoneyPal app — sign up
Checkbox is unchecked by default; user must select it to continue.
3. Message use case (2FA / account notifications)
Our toll-free number is used for transactional messages only — not promotional marketing blasts:
- One-time passcodes (OTP) for phone verification and account security
- Critical account and security alerts
- MoneyPal Advance disbursement and repayment notifications where applicable
Message frequency: Varies by account activity. Verification codes are sent on demand (typically 1–3 per sign-in attempt).
4. Sample OTP message
MoneyPal: Your verification code is 847291. Do not share this code. Expires in 10 minutes. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.
5. Opt out & help
- Reply STOP to any message to cancel SMS
- Reply HELP for assistance
